Program contestants can win glory – plus cash –
but not for the question, “Why beard, and not mustache?”
Alex is known for his sly self-effacement.
Now there are rumors about his replacement.
When Alex took over, some hawing and hemming –
does anyone these days remember Art Fleming?
So while we get used to our host’s brand-new beard,
eventually he will retire, as we feared.
Replacement names being considered seem lame, so most
likely I won’t tune in to watch the new game show host.
