A man tried to smuggle out baby-sized tortoises,
hoping a bribe would make customs ignore this. His
effort was foiled; x-rays too large a hurdle
when trying to poach nearly 200 turtles.
To steal from this famous, remote archipelago
known as the Galápagos? The world declares, “Hella no!”
The punishment handed out should be draconian
for trying to pinch these endangered chelonians.
This magical isle – all the creatures that are in –
inspired a great theory by one Charles Darwin.
Thank goodness this crime to filch turtles was solved. Such
behavior proves some people haven’t evolved much.
