A Fool’s Errand

How do you distinguish a day for sanctioned fibs from any other day?

It’s April 1st, a day for pranks –
when someone tries to pull your leg.
It’s not for me; I say, “No, thanks.”
As far as tricks, it’s off I beg.

To set me up by telling me
a story: is it true? It isn’t.
All these frauds you’re selling me…
Of Ponzi you are reminiscent.

Laughs? I’d benefit from one,
but not if it’s undignified.
(Oh, by the way – your fly’s undone.)
You checked your zipper? HA! I lied.
