Hook, Line and Blinker

A common household pet can acquire an astounding skill.

Though chimps fulfilled a bold wish
and flew rockets toward the stars,
it’s still shocking to learn goldfish
have been trained to drive a car.

Horses do addition,
and some dogs have learned to speak.
But you don’t expect when fishin’
to see trout park near the creek.

Elephants do paintings,
and a crow can hold a grudge –
whereas people do mundane things.
Should fish drive? I won’t begrudge.

No need to be wary
and, in fact, we should give thanks:
fish could join the military –
since they learn by driving tanks.
