are staggering in the details.
The winter crops are being threatened
by these scurvy little rodents.
Farmers, much to their regret, spend
great cost fighting these opponents.
A single mouse – an individual –
most folks would consider cute.
But damage left behind, residual,
caused by swarms is absolute.
Farmers have been made distraught;
it’s overwhelming, causing strife.
A losing battle – if it’s fought
by one knife-wielding farmer’s wife.
